Did you get any rock?? ............. Jerry (in Tucson)
Jerry, we enjoyed the scenery, the views and the experience.

We weren't educated on the need to bring home any rocks.

Those guys live just down the road from me like 20 minutes. Won't let you tour their shop.... They were working with Ruth Niles a few years ago so will be interesting if anything comes from it.The bottle opener is from StainlessBottleStoppers.com. They had a booth at SWAT. Nice guys! I got the impression (perhaps incorrectly) that they have a machine shop and are a supplier to other suppliers in the industry.
There were two different bottle opener designs. This one seemed nice so thought I would try a few. It works well!

Looks like progress.Well, I've been wanting to get to more turning... and yet more cutting boards were ordered. I don't have a lot of clamps. But I did get four basic 'racing stripe' boards cut out... just ready for the glue-up. The other board is what I'm calling a whack-a-doodle board. I have no idea how it is going to turn out.

Nice job, Jon. I wish I had the ambition to do stuff like that. I certainly have the knowledge, equipment, supplies, a lot of wood, and have access to 2 sanders for surfacing, but just can't bring myself to get started.Well, I've been wanting to get to more turning... and yet more cutting boards were ordered. Just used two-sided tape and put one on top of the other. Then used the bandsaw and went at a slow but steady pace. The bandsaw blade for his is a 3/8s 10tpi . to really define the line, I used a maple strip that is close to the same width as the blade. On that whack-a-doodle board, how did you make your cuts on 2 pieces to have the curves match? ........... Love the color Matt!I still have three larger pieces to media blast and then paint, but I've been able to do a small amount of assembly on the Sprunger BS-10.

Not a fan of dyed woods, but the second from the top is outstanding. Well done on all, John. .......... Jerry (in Tucson)Finished the lathe work and got first coat of oil on um this afternoon. First time turning the ERC, like it.
