What did you do in your shop today?

More progress, although the black asphalt on the driveway is starting to get a little toasty. Got the gates on the puzzle boxes done and got the first one glued up. Got the roofs on the lighthouse / music box made. Glued in the transition roof, the main roof is just sitting there. I need to decide how I'll provide access to the interior so the batteries and stuff can be changed, etc. Might just make the roof fitted. Can't really put on hinges because of the eaves.

Scattered showers/storms are keeping me out of the shop.... Trying to get it organized means having to move stuff to the driveway. The other projects all involve rust removal and priming... yeah that doesn't work well in the rain either. Such is Life.

Break in rain today.... managed to sand/wire wheel the inside if the wheelbarrow and get a coat of rust bullet on it..... TBD for the remainder of today....

Are you going to paint flames or pin stripes down the sides?
Eh... TBD....

I also got to cleaning up a homemade metal brake.... I wanna protect it, but don't want to worry about paint transfer, so I'm thinking UHMW tape on the bending portion..... but do I paint the rest???

There is a 12-year-old girl with Ausbergers in our church. To help her build order around herself she has her own dishes, utensils, and cutting board. Her parents bought it as a kit and can be put away in its own container. Her cutting board is plastic so for her birthday, I made her a wooden one with the exact dimensions so it can fit in her container. Here is it soaking in mineral oil.

12"x 8"
Walnut, Cherry, Purple Heart, Paduak, and Maple

The smaller one we will sell as a cheese board or something.

So kind of you! Your example is exemplary! Chuck

Amongst the attempted cleaning of the shop I started another project.... a portable hose reel. The old hose bit the dust, so a 100' 3/8" Flexzilla has been ordered. I'm going to weld a handle for it out of angle and 1/2" pipe. Storms moved it and quashed progress..... I think the reel itself is an older one from HF, with the hose attachment modified to prevent additional hose strain.

New tires on the bandsaw, new big sharp blade ready to go. Five chains sharpened and one hatchet sharp once again. Ready to go to war with the logs.
