Nope, not a cover. Thanks for the guess. Yours is #1.......... NubsIt's a cover of some sort?
Wrong. Guess #2 .............. NubsFinger guard on the side of the band-saw. (throat plate)
Guess #3. Nope. Not even close. Goes on a lathe. ................ NubsSkid plate for the bottom of a tractor.
Cmon Chuck, I know you can do better than that. It does kinda sorta almost looks like my Shooting Bench top, though. But, it's for a wood lathe. I know there are a few of you here when someone guesses correctly or I reveal what it, is is gonna wish they had one. Guess #4............. NubsTable top for old desk in elementary school.
It doesn't look like a guess, but at least it's got you thinking, so I'm gonna call it guess #5. I need 5 more to blurt out the answer. .............. Nubs2 pairs of 4 evenly spaced holes, hmm......

@Arn213 There be no cigar awarded for your response. Try again. It’s an electric guitar back plate cover to house the guts of a double size super strat with a tremolo.
Pretty close, Frank. Below is @Karl_TN answer. He pretty much has the answer, but it's not for a conversion. It's for mounting the VFD facing forward rather than towards the backside like Powermatic and Jet that I know of. When I get the VFD wired up, I'll post a picture. ............... NubsThe only thing I know of that has 4 holes like that is a motor or controller box. Looks like it would either move it over 8 inches or allow you to reverse the mount. Offset screw holes allow you to access the holes over the ways?
Do we really care what Karl and Frank thinks?@Arn213 There be no cigar awarded for your response. Try again.
