What did you do in your shop today?

Started working on my old Cherokee to replace the rear springs. Just like the rear shocks, no “spring “ left in them. I did measure the sitting height of both front and rear. Everything is coming apart nicely except front spring bushing bolts. Of course I don’t have the rear bolts punched out yet but at least I have them loose. Will have to break the old cheater pipe out and see if I can get in there and put it to work.

i have the axle supported so if you let the axle hang the spring does have an arch…..but with the wheels on the ground they are flat!

Replaced the tie rod, Pittman arm, and the thing that attaches to the Pittman arm with all ball joints on my 79 Silverado. Now it drives pretty good and when I get to a rough spot on the road, others driving my truck wont crap their pants. Even got it aligned. Wow, what a difference......... Nubs

I tested the electric clutch on the mower I been over hauling. Under voltage. Nothing going back to the battery, battery loosing charge a little over the last week. Nothing at the regulator. Popped the flywheel and was flabbergasted....all 6 magnets had let loose from the inside of the flywheel and were perfectly set on the stater. Mower sat 10 years, guess they rusted / corroded off.

Cleaned the magnets and the flywheel. JB welded magnets back to flywheel and now the 24 hour wait.

View attachment 276957We did that to our old '99 cherokee, it ended up sitting about 1 1/2 to 2 inches higher than the front. Let me know yours turns out.

Those old leaf springs make nice knife blades if you know anyone with a forge.

I put Marian front and rear with measurements. No doubt rear is going up. I have 1.5 inch coil spring spacers to add to the front. The rears are so shot i know it’s going up. Plus I didn’t realize how much heavier the new springs are. Pictures to come.

Filled 3 bags full of shavings from this piece of sycamore. Got it roughed out to 13 by 7 or so. Pulled out an 11 by 4 core.

Putting together the mobile base for my new band saw. See the Power Tool section for a couple questions I have. Thanks

Spent a few hours rearranging the wood shelf and also marking the wood type on each piece. No pic. Will try to grab one tomorrow.

Finished (well almost) cutting up everything to go to SWAT. Put the (new to me) racks together and loaded in the trailer. Still have a bunch of cherry on the trailer to cut into blanks and seal the ends and stack somewhere. Have a few more things to load up but I'm pretty much ready. Hopefully I come back with an empty trailer. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Good luck! And if not, I know a place near Nashville where you can unload the rest and it wouldnt even be noticed!
