Henry who?Oh, is that where "Henry" Hill has packages sent these days?

Sorry Henry, I took an oath. I mentioned Asheville, because it is not too far from you- one of my favorite places actually! I would end up there when I lived in SC when my youngest played travel ball- Asheville and Charlotte. I am going to have to post some pics.Asheville is, indeed, a beautiful city. I'm fonder of the smaller towns surrounding it, but Grove Park Inn ain't bad.Henry who?Sorry Henry, I took an oath. no money left cause he filled his pockets and every nook and cranny with woodMight be able to hide wood, but you can't hide money!

A whole village! Great! ChuckBeen busy over the past couple days. Found that nice piece of Pear last week (posted a pic of some bowls I cored) and decided to make a few small hollow forms and a vase out of some of the log.
The 5 small hollow forms all still have the tenon on them until they dry out a bit more. They will all have “rounded bottoms”. Kind of a flat spot, but no foot.
The vase will probably end up without a foot too. Will narrow at the base and concave so it sits flat.
All pieces will finish between 4.5-8” tall.
Dry and wetted (although the lighting is poor)

Wow, very cool!Working on this White Ash bowl today. 12” wide and 4” tall. I think I’m going to bleach the interior, then milk paint the outside. It’s sanded, but will give it a few days to acclimate a bit more before finishing the bottom.

nothing like progressYesterday I made a saddening discovery in the shop. My chop saw died around Christmas. Did a property clean-up and discovered there was a very similar unit to dispose that seemed to work fine when plugged in. So I decided to replace mine. After about 10-15 minutes, rooting through the 6-8 inches of wood scrap debris on the floor, I finally found my way to the extension cord the chop saw was plugged into. I see it was partially unplugged, plugged it back in all the way....WhA LA. It worked. Once again I made a fool of myself.
I had just started using the 18volt DeWalt circular saw a lot more and did not rush into fixing things. The old chopsaw from youth still works and sat on the floor below the Delta. It was an 8" so not used like the 10". The DeWalt died Sunday, trigger shorted out. So, wife said to donate the recent chop saw or sell it, so guess I should do so.
If I had just cleaned the shop like I said the last 3 years.....
What are the two blue looking blanks in the front row of the lowest shelf on the right side? It looks like the wrong blue for blue mahoe and yet it is blue and looks like wood from here.
