What free wood did you find today?

Here goat stew is seen fairly frequently. I used to eat at a now closed cafe, Corum's BBQ and Stew in Lexington, AL. The owners died years ago. They always had beef, chicken rabbit and goat stew on the menu. Here is a partial menu from Marty's Stew shack, located not far from where Corum's was. They don’t do rabbit nor Brunswick.

My wife’s friend’s daughter raises meat goats. There’re folks around us that have goats for milk, and then ours are for entertaining our Great Pyrenees.

I've wanted to pick up a goat leg to make some mid-eastern flavored salami, but haven't sought any out yet.

Spit roasted goat is supposedly quite a treat.
It is. Hard to get a whole goat round here though. Also not so easy to get the salt right.

We have some Island restaurants around that do goat, but not many others. Anyways, they just chop it up, bones and all, and not all that fond of it. About the only place to buy goat is at our Restaurant Depot. There could be some international markets, but haven't been in one in a few years now. When I first moved here, there was a national grocery store that sold goat. I lived near it and shopped there often including buy goat.

Just a couple of cherry and a couple of hickory. All for about 20" diameter. Now to figure out what to saw.

Looks good. We have plenty of Hickory trees in our area, but I have only turned a couple of smaller bowls from branches. I didn't realize the bigger trees had that much sapwood until I saw your photos. All looks good!

Well, found this in the last box of Paul's woods I've been posting. It is a sample of mine that went missing 10 years ago. Here is a picture of it on his site.

Kinda like lending tools to a friend or relative. Eventually, you have to go looking for it when you want it back............:sarcastic:

Would love to come down. However, brother's barn is caving on a corner so the weekend is shot, hoping to pull things back together so it goes another 200 years.
Be safe. Those are no fun. I grew up farmi.g and carpentering. Sometimes both at the same time. Pulled several back together. Replace several dozen posts over the years. Put the whole end in a couple 2 stories. Hopefully this is only a single story repair.
