What's Growing in the Garden

Okra, fried, boiled, grilled over charcoal, in gumbo, okra and tomatoes, I even like it raw. After trying it raw I know why deer will go for it even before they consume the pepper plants.

This is the garden after the corn, beans, peas, tigger melons and cukes are gone. Now I have beets, collards, kale, rutabaga, turnip and a half dozen things planted. Mustard is in another small plot along with white multiplying and Egyptian walking onions. Okra, peppers and a few tomatoes are still producing and won’t come down until heavy frost.

I was doing a show today and a woman who has bought some stuff from me in the past came up and was looking at a Cholla peppermill I had on the table. We started talking about it, the upshot is she has one growing at her house. I didn't know it grew here but apparently it does. She went home and got me some cuttings, hopefully I can get it to grow in my yard.
