Love this!!!
Well....if you took a giant iron, and flattened all those mountains out, Austria would be 3 and a half times bigger. Kind of neat looking at things a bit different. Like, the surface area of West Virginia is bigger than Alabama and Mississippi combined.i chuckle every time i see @daniscool state "Welcome from Austria. Ignore the Texans"
so i checked on relative size.
you can fit 8 plus "Austria's" inside the geographic footprint of Texas.
seems like quite a crowd to silence
what i originally went looking for was to see if any Texas Ranches were bigger than Austria, but alas i was rebuked
it actually takes the 4 largest Texas ranches to equal the size of Austria

Go back to pre WW1 and you will be amazed that Austria was larger than Texas. You are quite right of course. @Mr. Peet is too (where did you even get the numbers from?)i chuckle every time i see @daniscool state "Welcome from Austria. Ignore the Texans"

Also, Austria has just over 9 million residents. Texas just over 32. This means austria is somewhat more densely populated. The silencing seems to be somewhat less hard, now that the factor is only 3,5.

It was a government project 20 years ago. Wonder how much numbers are different now with AI and new tech.Go back to pre WW1 and you will be amazed that Austria was larger than Texas. You are quite right of course. @Mr. Peet is too (where did you even get the numbers from?)

Interesting. Our frogs lack wings and don't bump thier arse when they jump. Must be a southern thing or local to your area. And, if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump his arse everytime it jumped.
Sorry, that's an automatic reaction everytime I hear/see "if". Interesting about WVa.

I guess you ain’t never been to a good ole fashioned frog jumping contest cuz every time they land, them hind quarters bumps that ground. Last time I went giggin, not one of them frogs I catched had wings so I recon frogs don’t got wings. Yep, must be a southern thing. It was a government project 20 years ago. Well, bless your heart. Wanna tell them what that means?I guess you ain’t never been to a good ole fashioned frog jumping contest cuz every time they land, them hind quarters bumps that ground. One thing I noticed about northern folks is they don’t understand some southern expressions. I spent 2 years in the north and quickly learned to avoid expressions that required an explanation such as “that dog don’t hunt”.
Maybe if would be more understandable if a different expression was used……..such as “If my aunt had ####, she would be my uncle”.
Ranks right up there with “how lovely”.Well, bless your heart. Wanna tell them what that means?
