The chipper might make neighbors nervous…….
I've been reluctant to run my chipper for that same reason. The last time I used it much, there wasn't a house in what used to be the backyard of the house next door. Next door is some youngish, skinny jean wearing, NJ yankee and potty-mouthed wife that are pretty anal-retantive. The ones in the house in the "backyard" are also pretty young, doing well enough to afford a 2 mil house. She is some kind of entertainer from Canada, he sells software, but haven't had any real contact with them, so have not been able to evaluate them yet. Seem more grounded though. I used to run an electric, plastic bucketed concrete mixer in my backyard (which would now be just under their dining and bedroom windows) tumbling colored glass to make fake sea glass. But that was 10 years ago, when people weren't so uptight and got away with it. But anything sea glass ain't selling anymore, so I got rid of concrete/mortar mixer and they don't have to worry about it.

I know the feeling I don't unload 30 round mags with black rifles more than a few times a year anymore. 😂

Hell, I can't even legally practice with a bow and arrow, or slingshot in my backyard anymore. Might have even outlawed throwing knives and darts by now!

Quite a few years ago, on a bank project I was doing - not far from downtown, someone (I think, the framing sub) unloaded his revolver (can't remember if it was a 38 or 45) into a piece of bullet-proof fiberglass panel - just to prove to himself it was bullet proof. He just laid it on the ground next to his feet and pulled the trigger. By golly, it was. The bullets lodged in the piece but did not penetrate through. Long story short - back then, no problem, today, there would be helicopters, SWAT teams, and the like. Found a piece I cut off the bigger piece - still had it on a shelf

Fortunately the sound of backyard target and varmint shooting is still rather common around here. I have a safe area to shoot but usually go to the field and stream club range.

Years ago I was helping my father on a spec house he was building in a subdivision. One of his friends showed up with a brand new 10 ga turkey gun. There was a steep embankment in the back yard so they thought it would be a good idea to put up some cardboard targets and try it. The lady next door totally flipped out, and called the state police. The officer showed up admired the 10ga and explained to the lady that no laws had been broken. He did tell us that he would appreciate it if we found a different place to target shoot.

Today I worked on stripping the wrecked parts scooter down. I got a lot of parts that where either missing or damaged on my scooter. 20260424_123240.jpg 20260424_162352.jpg
Im about halfway there.

So I'm getting some of the parts I need and I'll have some to sell on ebay that I dont need. I even found the original tool kit for the bike, that was kinda cool as mine was missing. Ill have a spare radiator, etc. I needed the seat as its better than mine and the underseat storage bucket too. Wheels will be sold.

It was a DoorDash person that got hi-jacked. They were shot, but returned fire and killed the carjacker.
And I had just passed the place less than 30 minutes before. Authorities are trying to decide whether to charge the DoorDash driver. What a POS city this has turned into! After getting shot, I guess he was just supposed to wave and say goodbye while the carjacker drove away with his car!

Today was the day to get all the new bunks installed on the boat trailer.
One side is done. Used stainless steel lag screws.

All done.
20260428_153623.jpg
This will support the boat much better and not scratch up the bottom like the old trailer did.
20260428_153634.jpg
New fender skirts are on also.
20260428_153651.jpg
Only thing left to do on the trailer is install a 3 light bar in the center. But I can do that when i get it home.

Now to cross my fingers and hope the hull angle matches. If not I'll be cutting and modifying the steel brackets to match. Or making some kind of wedges to correct the angles of the boards. Either way this trailer is much better than the old one.
