Today's Backyard Wildlife

Four healthy noisy little tots born about two weeks ago. Mom dad and auntie constantly working hard keeping them fed. Tempted to feed them myself but don’t want to upset the natural cycle. It is a pleasure watching them.

As nice as this looks, unless I can scare them off, there won’t be a darn thing growing in my garden at my new house…. And the foundation planting doesn’t stand much of a chance.

Years ago, I had a bunch of agricultural M80’s. I’m going to try to get hold of some and use a wrist rocket slingshot to scare the heck out of them. If I can’t run ‘em off, I’ll have more deer sausage than I can use.

Any chance you could use electric fence around the perimeter? True they can jump it, but around here a single strand of fence waist high, and baited with foil/peanut butter is enough to redirect them away from garden, orchard and landscaping. Some repellants also work, but need to be out before they start browsing new spring growth.
 
Neighbor a mile away used to raise peacocks and they were frequent visitors to the top of our barn. After the novelty wore off, we would do anything short of shooting them to keep them, and the noise, away.

I've not heard of anyone eating peacocks. Probably tastes like chicken in full color!

We were doing a show at Flamingo Gardens in Davie Florida and there are many peacocks roaming around. The show was in March which is their rutting season, and where we parked in the back of the park the male peacocks started attacking the black cars in the lot. They did a lot of damage. The president of our wood turning guild, had over $3,000 damage on his car.
Apparently they saw their reflection in the car and took it as another rival mail and started attacking it , scratched the hell out of the car and made a lots of peck mark dents

Peafowl are messy birds to have around, and a little destructive with their scraping and rooting around. And noisy.
