What did you do in your shop today?

We had my buddy’s grandkids in the shop this morning. The boy completed a couple of ornaments that he had been working on. Today was the girls first time in this shop. She got a safety briefing and the spindle roughing gouge was practiced and utilized on her icicle ornament. We also practiced beads and coves with the spindle detail gouge. Loose clothing and long hair was mitigated while working. The doctor cleared me to be back in the shop so I’m happy.

The long hair reminded me about the lady who died at a lathe in a university (U of I?) research machine shop. Good thing not to overlook.

Been working through boxes and bins of stuff I hauled out of the shop when we put it on the market, Still hasn't sold and at this point I don't know that it will unless I take a fire sale price for it......
Keep listing stuff here on WB. Hopefully you'll offload most of what you are trying to offload. Chuck

Finished that tool rack and glue holders on the cabinet that used to hold my lathe. I think it'll work well, helping keep my tools organized and my fixed bench less cluttered.

I was in the shop but didn't run any tools today. After an ER visit I'm now on blood thinners so I have to be super careful.

Did get some pen kits organized and listed for sale.

Finally got a little time to clear another section of the carport. Made a couple cabinets for a built in area in my brother's camper. IMG_20241214_150941.webp IMG_20241214_150955.webp IMG_20241214_151008.webp IMG_20241214_151025.webp

The top is a roll out shelf cabinet . The bottom board screwed on there is a temporary handle to test drive it.
Center drawer is a dumpster find. Hardware and all...
Bottom area will remain open for a tp and trashcan area.
The toilet will be just to the left of this assembly. The center drawer is set to clear the top of the toilet by a couple inches.

is that wall as out of square as it appears?

Mushroom

I didn't measure it but I think it is close to 10 inches tall. I CA'd the bark in hopes it doesn't fall off. I'm really not sure of the species? This thing is wetter than wet. I've kept in on the chuck and brought it into the house to let is dry out. I'll return it to the lathe and sand it down in a few days.
