How's your day been?

Ah, but that's only half the puzzle. How are the threads in the oil pan itself?
They are good thankfully. I think they are harder than the bolt was. They looked good and the new bolt threaded in very easy by fingers. Tightened up nice with a wrench. Hopefully I never have to replace the pan.

Went out riding on the dual sports with one of my scooter riding buddies. I always stop at this house for a photo, just love this house. It's gotta be a million dollar house easy. We rode dirt roads mostly, stopped for lunch and stopped to watch a combine harvesting soy beans, that was kinda cool.

What a pleasant looking house & setting!

How cold was it? See you still have trees with green leaves there.
Was chilly in the morning and warmed up into the 60s later in the day. Peak color around here will be in about another week, mid October. Haven't had a frost yet.

This has been a great day. Finally able to log on to WB this afternoon. Not sure what the probably has been but my niece stopped by and was finally able to resolve whatever the issue was.

We've had beautiful weather with highs in the low 80's and lows in the 50's. Only real sign of fall is the early sunset and a few of the tree species starting to turn. Had to run to town this afternoon, but spent a little time walking around at home making sure all the trees were fenced well against the deer (rubbing).

Only real (full) color is the white birch. That is a large red maple behind them with a pin oak to the left side.

The silver maple is starting to color a little bit

We are still at least 2 weeks from normal frost date and won't have "full" color until end of October.

Well a couple days ago my garage door opener quit working, I could hear the .rotor running but no workey.
Problem is my garage is packed with 10 lbs of stuff in a 5 lb bag.
I have to move all of this stuff to get to the opener.

Now i have access. It was just a roll pin that worked its way out of a plastic gear, i found the roll pin in the bottom of the cover and re installed it. Fixed!

I had to pull all of this hardwood off the rack to get to the opener. Only part of it went back inside. I didnt keep anything less than 1 1/2" thick.

This will all get cut up for the fire pit.

I'm done, back is toast, that was a lot for a fat old man.

Did you dab the pin with a touch of glue or drip of lock-tite to help keep it in place?

No I didn't, didn't think of it at the time and I had myself wedged in the wood rack under the opener and I really didn't want to get back down again. But I will say it took a few pretty good wacks with a hammer and punch to get it driven in. It held for 12 years, I hope it holds as long this time, lol.

then i must have 80 lbs of stuff in my 5 lb garage

Cut up the cull lumber today, a bunch of undersized wood that im not hanging on to anymore. I have more wood than I'll ever use in my remaining lifetime so its time to get rid of some of the stuff I'll probably never use.
Some cull........

My backyard tree is really getting pretty fall colors. I planted this tree when I moved in here 12 years ago. It was just a stick when I planted it, really shades the yard nice now.

Another beautiful fall day here in Michigan. Started out a little cool in the upper 40s and warmed up to 64, nice day for a scooter ride.
First stop was at anchor bay.

Great weather for riding, 169 miles today.

We started in the mid 20's this morning and made the upper 50's. Great t-shirt weather for me this afternoon. Sitting at 35 now, wood stove days are here again.

Our crazy warm weather continues with highs in the upper 70's and lows in the 50's. Very dry with RH of ~ 25% during the day. Still haven't had a killing frost and these temps are going to continue for another week.
