Looking forward.Hello. I just wanted to let you know I haven’t stopped making boxes. I have a couple in process but it will be awhile before they are posted.
I have spent a lot of time getting my shop all dialed in again. Hopefully soon you will see some more of my work.
An amazing top. Anything to salvage? Here is the ugly box I just finished. It is made from worm hole maple. It was cool idea that went south. The wood is really punky. I thought it would look cool but it had other ideas. It will stay in the shop as a reminder that sometimes thing just don’t work out. View attachment 290789View attachment 290790

I have more wood like it. I just need to figure out a way to harden it.An amazing top. Anything to salvage?
Stabilising will work. Vacuum chambers aren’t cheap though.I have more wood like it. I just need to figure out a way to harden it.
Was that Cactus Juice? If you look through the threads @Barb had a recipe for a wood hardener that is applied to the exterior without a vacuum chamber.
No it was (I think) thinned epoxy or laquer or some such and I am not certain which. That's why I tagged Barb. Was that Cactus Juice?
