What did you do in your shop today?

Looks nice! What is it and how are these used for liqueur drinking?

<---‐- doesn't drink liqueur.
They're called whiskey smokers. Pour the whiskey in a glass, put the wood piece on top. Fill the hole on top with sawdust/chips, and light with a torch which forces the smoke down thru the hole on top of the whiskey thusly imparting a smokey flavor to the spirit!
Never heard of it till saw on utube, so I tried it.
A fad, an improvement???....I'm no whiskey snob so I'll let others judge that. To me....thought it was something different I could make for them.

Cool idea, but if you want a smoky whisky I recommend, and I’m sure @SENC will agree, get an Islay single malt scotch whisky, You can’t go wrong.

Got to tell us a little more on the design/size/hole size. This would be a perfect gift for my nephew.
Mine are 3¼-4" diameter, whatever size needed to cover the glass. Top hole is 1" diam, thru hole can be ¼-⅜". I got some 1" screens from Amazon, or just cut from some scrap.
Do have to use a 'blowtorch' to force the smoke downward. I used the same torch I use when finishing creme brule.

No thanks! Scotch is not for me....even when I sampled it at the Talisker Distillery on Isle of Skye.
Nasty stuff IMO!

Thanks for the information. That's a new one.

My first thought is that's got to be carcinogenic. But, the alcohol kills all evils, I'm sure of that. :cowboy:

Different than smoking meat for 10-12 hours?
I don't know.
Hey now, no call for that foul language! Why do we need to talk this kind of way! That was definitely a kick below the belt!:yipee:

You have a great point and I think that you should make these for all of your drinking friends!

Like @Sprung Matt, need to carch up on some vehicle maintenance. Nor as serious as his, but needed. Finally found some replacement steps, need to replace rear shocks, and front shocks on wife’s Jeep. Got one side of the existing steps off my truck. Rest should now go easier. Just wish the truck would fit in my shop. All outside projects except Jeep.

Not sure how these steps got so bad. Should have been done a while ago. Once they started going, they went!

Good to see brown ground instead of white! Are you in the winter storm warning area for the next couple of days? Nephew in Cheyenne said he may have to smoke his turkey in the garage depending on when the storm hits.

Weather is headed south tomorrow but no snow starting until tomorrow evening. Advisory runs through Saturday evening. Probably won’t get this job done. Greenhouse took priority……

That corrosion looks like it came from inside to the outside. Salt and moisture are the culprits, as you know. Maybe look for how water is getting inside and see if you can seal those openings somehow. I'm sure they only paint the outside of the tubes.
