What did you do in your shop today?

Winter advisory for us says 3-5 from 8 thanksgiving to 11 Saturday. Just enough to make Black Friday a real mess. Glad I will be at home.

But go the new steps on this morning. Just like Matt, once i knew how they were put on, second side was easy. Was able to reuse a lot of hardware as the frame mounts were very similar. That was a nice surprise. The hard work of fishing the blind nuts into the frame was already done.

Two more cutting boards with two more to come today... I hope.
The first one was scrap leftovers. The walnut on the outside is from a board I bought recently. The middle piece is also walnut... left over from the 12 old board, a friend gave me. What a difference! Then there is the cherry. The second board is for Karen and my doctor.

Cut up blanks for the bodies of bird house ornaments for the family. Apple, cherry, mulberry, hackberry, walnut, black and honey locust.

And no, I'm not making a bird house ornament for the exchange.

Insulating my shop……
I’d posted earlier that I’d started…
It’s done!!!!!
At least 1 inch on the side walls (= R7) and at least 2 inches on ceiling. Can really tell the difference with the weather change today
Now comes the “reconstructing” & getting things where I really want them to be.
For the curious — I used the “Foamit Green” product. Really happy with it.

Did you self install? And approximately how much cost per square foot on the one inch thickness?

Buffing day, had quite a few in the queue that I have turned over the last couple of months, so I devoted today to rubbing them out and buffing, and it took most of the day! Most are gnarly pieces as you can see, kinda my shtick now as most buyers want the "character" stuff IME. Mostly olive, some mesquite and random other woods... range from 4 to 15 inches tall

Those are all great, Barry! But, I gotta say that, for some reason, that little one in front, the smallest one, right of center, really speaks to me with both that live edge and the contrast of heartwood and sapwood.
