My next door neighbor has a beaver cut his lilacs down...
Electric fence is very effective, but can be expensive if you are starting from scratch. About $200 would give you a decent setup with a plug in charger, posts and wire. Don't even need to have the fence plugged in after the first few weeks. A few get shocked and stay away from any fence they see.I went to Lowes and exchanged a box of #6 - 1" wood screws for a box of #6 - 3/4" screws. And I got two spray bottles to mix up some Deer Off spray to see if we can keep them off the lilacs until they bloom. I'm just a plethora of excitement! It's hard to keep up with me.
Nice save, and what a great idea to give dull wood a spark! ChuckTried to salvage a broken hollow form by turning it into a bowl. Boring wood so I colored it with ink and friction polish.

Ditto for squirrels, but I prefer steel for them.Spray stuff works until it wears off in about a day, or a heavy dew or rain. The only thing we have found that keeps deer away from plants is lead
Got me wondering if there was a stencil setup for Dremel. Didn't find one for them, but Proxxon makes one that looks like it would fit a Dremel. Little costly though for just a few, ~ $270.Finished this cross up for a friend with a scripture quote he likes. Not my best work. Carving with a dremel tool was not in my comfort zone or wheelhouse of skills.
Wood is walnut. 15" tall.

Personal experience with proxxon dictates that they are more suited to very precise woodwork or metalwork but not for removing large amounts of material. I would have done that with a router not a dremel. A round carbide bit (imagine a sphere which you cut in half) would do the trick. (I think) good luck in future projects.Got me wondering if there was a stencil setup for Dremel. Didn't find one for them, but Proxxon makes one that looks like it would fit a Dremel. Great idea! Being at the right elevation is very beneficial! ChuckMade a platform to get me up higher while working on the lathe. Had to try it too.
