It was raining all day today, so I decided to make this.

Wire between two legs would be useful for a number of things, clay shaving or , as you are into woodturning, wire burning lines on a turned item. Couple other things I can think of but will stop with those for the nonce.

I agree with Frank, @2feathers Creative Making , wire burning embellishments on turning items.
What about poor man's cheese cutter. Works for butter too. Just hit the wire with your torch a few seconds and no frozen butter stands a chance.

@hmmvbreaker , I didn't make it as a nose ring, but if any of those people who do have one would probably be working on one right now after seeing this.
It's a ring burner that is better than holding a piece of wire in both hands trying to get the wire to burn a ring. I also used aviation wire so it should last a lot longer than regular wire. ............... Nubs

You could engrave some weird writing on the handle, something like "One ring burner to bind them all...." and make a movie about an evil wood turner who wants to own all the wood, and all looks bleak until some little people on a trek to find a hoard of wood kept by a wood troll find this magic ring burner and the evil wood hoarding lord finds out about it and sends his evil wood wraiths to capture him...
