Bandsaw guides.
I'm normally not a fan of roller bearing guides on band saws. I can make an exception for this one for using narrow blades.
Recently the local woodworking club had a Saturday workshop on making band saw reindeer which I attended as I've watched many YouTube video's on the topic and think that it is a cool way to make small, interesting things quickly. The workshop was great so I went at it later that day at home. It just didn't work well. My PM 143 14" band saw has new tires but I've never put a blade on it that was less than 1/2". After a couple of hours of trying to dial it in with a 3/16" blade I gave up. Probably put the blade back on 15 times before I walked away. It does have new rubber tires, new thrust bearings, and freshened OEM metal guide blocks.
Most people who work with thin blades use the Carter Stabilizer Guide bearing so I looked up the right part number for my early 1970's vintage saw and placed the order. This was here when I got back home this evening. I can't wait to try it out and finish the reindeer!
