How's your day been?

WOW !!! Gluten Free Cheese Its !!!
I have Celiac so I must be gluten free.
Someone on Ebay Has a box fer 13.99 but Targets website shows it fer 3.99.
Lance used to have knock off but discontinued it.

Now if I can only find a Good gluten free croissant... :cowboy:
Just before Christmas i picked up a container of Marsha's Buckeyes (peanut butter ball dipped in chocolate) at our local Rural King. Had 40 buckeyes in it, so it's in the fridge and i've been nursing it. Noticed last night that the side of the container says "Gluten Free". Didn't expect that, and the print was small enough to not be obvious. Still taste like candy--though not as good as my older sister used to make!!

I'd say my day went pretty good! Slipped this past the wife under the cover of darkness! New with 9 miles on it.
Might keep me out of the wood shop though.

This photo came into my life today. Of a carved Tuna from Japan. Look how he centered the dorsal fin on the grain pattern of the back. Oh to have that skill and pre-planning ability! Or if it was luck - to have that kind of luck would be awesome.

Better be a pretty stout wall where ever they hang that one.

Did you see the world record price for blue fin tuna was set just recently in the big Japan fish market? It was over $3 million for a 530 lb fish. No wonder poaching thrives.

Most awesome! I have a friend that owns an older Corvette, and he babies that beauty! Yours is sensational! Chuck
My best friend wanted a 'vette from his birth year. He bought a '56. it's his play toy that he seldom plays with. He and his wife had it shipped to Arizona a few years back and took a ride on Route 66 (The Mother Road - per Steinbeck). Can't say he babys it either - as it now has auto transmission, power windows and other modern niceties - but it sure looks good though.

I want that knife! Anyways - wonder why it went for so much? Nowhere close to the record rod&reel pacific bluefin. The record is almost twice the size of that one. Assuming that it'll yield at most 55% (294#)(thats what the internet said and the internet is always right!) then cost would be $10,875.00 per lb. Or for one average nigiri (1 oz of tuna also per internet)- just a measly $680 just for the tuna, no labor, markup, taxes, etc..... Now, how many do you want to order? Now, I have not been to Japan, but I doubt most nigiri go for that much!

I think the blue fin grading system is pretty subjective and dependent upon who's doing the grading. Fat content, color, amount of gristle, sheen, etc. They also look at the entire fish - gills, eyes, etc for freshness and health. I couldn't tell the difference between a $10 bottle of wine and a $700 bottle of wine and I'm pretty sure I couldn't tell the difference between a $40 tuna and $3 million dollar tuna, as long as they were both fresh. There is also a bidding war type effect, so it's possible the buyer got caught up in the competition and just decided he was going to buy that fish regardless of how much it cost, just for the fame.

I am 100% convinced the world is full of idiots. All I had to do was drive to Bend to check on my Mom, take her to the bank, then to Safeway, and after leaving her, stop at Costco on the way home. It was one totally oblivious person after another. Almost got hit twice and a third lady was driving 50 mph in the 55 mph stretch of country road and driving with her right wheels to the right of the white line - which means she kicked up very piece of grit and gravel they spread on the road during winter. It's no wonder we get the politicians we get because these are the people who are allowed to vote. Then I finally get home and think "Ah, time to relax. I should check on the status of those clock parts I mailed to Dustin ( @DR57 )." This is what I saw....
usps tracking.jpg

Notice on January 11 (4 days ago) it departed the Dallas facility and went to Ft Worth (which appears closest to Dustin's town). Then for some reason it sat until yesterday and then was sent back from Ft Worth to the Dallas facility. And now is apparently on its way back to Ft Worth. I'm telling you, I need to find a small uninhabited island in the South Pacific and move there and become all powerful dictator so I can prohibit anyone else from moving there.

The roll style spring that winds on the rod over the doorway?
Not that it helps you right now, but those are usually fairly straightforward to replace. A lot of our installers have them on hand at their shops.
As a matter of fact I believe I have a 3 year old spring set for a 16 foot door sitting in my shop area from a take out at our last job.

... and just to make my day, my garage door spring broke just now. I think I have negative karma right now.
As Frank said, those are pretty darn simple to replace these days. I did ours a couple years ago and was able to get springs through Menards. Great instructions and no more using bars to tighten them. Screw gun with a nut driver...

Only hard part "may" be identifying the correct replacement.
