The only croissants online I've been able to find by Schar I'd have to order 48 of them. I don't want that many, I would order six just to try them but the review said they weren't that good

I thought the GF Cheez-Its were really good. They appear to currently be sold out everywhere right now. They were just released a few weeks ago, so a lot of people wanting them. The two boxes we got are gone now, so we're waiting to see them back int he stores again. They are very similar to what I remember the real deal Cheez-Its tasting like - something I certainly missed. I think they're worth keeping your eye out for and picking up a box to try when you see them.

I am 100% convinced the world is full of idiots. All I had to do was drive to Bend to check on my Mom, take her to the bank, then to Safeway, and after leaving her, stop at Costco on the way home. It was one totally oblivious person after another. Almost got hit twice and a third lady was driving 50 mph in the 55 mph stretch of country road and driving with her right wheels to the right of the white line - which means she kicked up very piece of grit and gravel they spread on the road during winter. It's no wonder we get the politicians we get because these are the people who are allowed to vote. Then I finally get home and think "Ah, time to relax. I should check on the status of those clock parts I mailed to Dustin ( @DR57 )." This is what I saw....

Notice on January 11 (4 days ago) it departed the Dallas facility and went to Ft Worth (which appears closest to Dustin's town). Then for some reason it sat until yesterday and then was sent back from Ft Worth to the Dallas facility. And now is apparently on its way back to Ft Worth. I'm telling you, I need to find a small uninhabited island in the South Pacific and move there and become all powerful dictator so I can prohibit anyone else from moving there.
And people want the government to run other things.:scare3:

At church this morning and I usually park on the side street because we have more members at the church than parking spots. So someone hit the mirror on my f250, broke the housing but it's still functional. Guess I have time to find one and then fix it in the spring.

Sorry to hear about your mirror! Whoever hit you had to know what they did! My wife & I recently talked about the number of drivers on the road these days, and marvel that there aren't even more accidents. I just know that not all drivers are competent, especially when you add in texting & driving, eating & driving, etc! Chuck

I don't know where they hire these folks from, but here goes.
I called my Dr.'s office to reschedule my appt. because of the coming storm.
2" will shut this town down for a week. A foot of snow ? Forget going anywhere for awhile.
Anyway, the girl asked for my birthday, I gave it to her. She asked my name, I gave it to her.
She couldn't find my appt, even though I gave her my Dr.'s name, and the date of appt.
So, she asked if I can spell my last name. I said of course I can.

Silence. .... ..... ..... .....
After awhile I said hello? She says I asked if you can spell your last name.
I said I know you did, I answered you. She says Oh, I mean can you spell it for me ?
I said that's not what you said.

That pretty much sums up my day yesterday.

This photo came into my life today. Of a carved Tuna from Japan. Look how he centered the dorsal fin on the grain pattern of the back. Oh to have that skill and pre-planning ability! Or if it was luck - to have that kind of luck would be awesome.

yes the carver did a good job

Where I used to live in Redding, CA, a chainsaw carver came to one of the meetings of the woodworking club I belonged to there. It was fascinating to watch him carve up a bear in about an hour! I have traveled through Bandon several times in my past. Lots of wood things there! Chuck

With the wife staying in town with her friend due to the weather, I got busy and did my dinner. Don’t do chili very often but Denise recommended it for this weekend. I found this chili mix many y ago. Nothing fancy but it has one of my few hero’s name on it. We have talked about in other posts and I don’t call sports stars or Hollywood types heroes any more.

And yes, it does NOT have beans in it. Onion, green peppers, and a couple of jalapeños were added to the chunky stew meat.

Like some of you, no, I am not a bourbon or whiskey drinker, but saw this special bottle at a favorite restauran, got to try it at a tasting, and I am acquiring the taste. Nice quiet evening with the animals.

Yup that's what I start with. I make it hot, and then add a can of Chipotle peppers and make it hotter. I serve it with cheese, sour cream, and corn bread.

I’m making chili tomorrow for the Seahawks game. I’ll try to remember to post my bourbon as well.

I’ve gotten to where I can’t eat chili without it being over Fritos and cheese on top. Not a sour cream fan like my wife.
