Be praying for you. My wife is headed in for double , tomorrow morning. Also a stent / restenosis issue. Possibly scar tissue, possible plaque. Wonder if we are witnessing a change in the coatings they are using on the stents? Sometimes the only way we know when they change stuff in the construction field is when it quits working the way it used to....
Pray your wife's surgery went well. That is a good reasoning on those stent coatings. My wife just said, "But we won't know for ten years, if ever."

Today i went and did some dirt backroad riding on my tdub. Did a little over 80 miles. While I was out riding I went by a place where I rented a house when I was in my 20s. They tore the house down to make more parking for the bar next door. The bar has since changed owners.
Check out the name of the bar, lol.

Well, I was supposed to have a triple by-pass on Wednesday. Once they got started, they decided heart wasn't strong enough to do it... Then I crashed... an hour or so later, I had 3 stents. I am now home. Seems as though I have confounded at least 5 doctors. But my 'now' doctor decided I should go home today. Good or bad news: during my seven-day stay at the hospital, I lost 27 pounds.

Praying for renewed strength and energy! Guess hospital food wasn’t that good! Chuck

I took a break from the house projects for a bit so I could work on my scooter and find the electrical short.
I had one bolt that would not break free, i had to drill it out.
20260525_131007.jpg
Its naked! I had to remove every piece of plastic to trace the short.
20260525_145742.jpg
Pile of parts.....
20260525_145749.jpg
The front fairing will eventually be replaced.

I found that someone used wire taps to tap into the ignition swqitch wires. I removed a bunch of bad wiring from the previous owners led underglow lights.
20260525_152833.jpg
New key switch is in.
20260525_152848.jpg and a new gas caap. 20260525_153021.jpg
All the locks will be changes so there will be 1 key again instead of 3.

While I was at it after I found the short I installed the new underseat storage box and wired up the new led light and switch. I just used the wires from the old light and new connectors.
20260525_162825.jpg I also aquired a new black dash and storage box assembly off a newer 2012 bike. It has better doors and latches. The original one will be eventually sold.

I have a long way to go to get this thing put back together. A lot of screws where missing and one plastic piece has to be repaired with jb weld for plastic. It will also get anewer seat, seat gas prop shock. It will get a new belt and it weights for the variator

Add on lights and add on stereos account for 90 percent of the wiring problems I have encountered. I bet rats and squirrels account for 90 percent of overall wiring issues in vehicles since they started using soy oils to make wire coatings
Yeah I was afraid I would find mice damage but luckily none found. Just idiot previous owner damage. That's ok, it's all getting fixed.

Man my back is so sore from yesterday I'm just taking it easy today. Wife and I mowed the lawn. She cuts and I trim, she dont like trimming, lol.
Only other thing I did for the scoot was go get some coolant and brake fluid, changing both.
And a little plastic repair.

I finished the repair on the broken plastic piece. I built up a pretty good amount of jb weld for plastic on it. Now it feels more solid than it was originally. 20260529_125102.jpg 20260529_125053.jpg 20260529_125622.jpg 20260529_125642.jpg
Body parts for this scooter are mostly not available anymore. You either search for used or look to the Chinese aftermarket.
20260529_125657.jpg
The new front fairing is a chinese reproduction, it came painted black. It will get sanded, filled, and painted with the rest of the parts.

I chose house of color cobalt blue. It should be a darker blue with a fine flake.

I dropped all the parts off to a painter today. I dont have a space to paint them or the equipment, or the skills for that matter. So I'm better off to let someone else with more experience shoot the parts
