I am back after spending about two weeks in Kona.
So here is todays box. This on has been hanging around for quite awhile. I believe this is a maple body with a spalted Maple top panel.

That lid is gorgeous. When I first saw it I was thinking some kind of ebony. I guess the lighting helped with that.

Todays box style is one that was very popular. I have made quite a few of them using yellow heart. This time I used Holly for the body and bloodwood for the heart. The issue I had with this one was the Holly greyed out a bit. IMG_2516.JPG IMG_2517.JPG

Thanks for asking for more. For the darker side of boxes; I have one like that has an ebony heart. I just can't find any pictures of it.

I just finished this Holly and Walnut box.
The top tray lifts out and the bottom dividers are permanent. I didn’t add liner to the box as I wanted to show the beauty of the woods.
it is 9.75”x7”x3” tall overall. IMG_2886.jpeg IMG_2887.jpeg IMG_2888.jpeg

Thank you but you are looking at a picture. If it was in your hands; you might think differently. I can see three issues on that box from the picture that make it a nice looking box but no hall of fame.

We all see things in our own work that others can’t see. I think that some of your boxes certainly deserve the title. Some won’t but some will.
