The person I got the wood from is in Texas and bought a pickup truck load of it for 900 bucks. That's all the info I have.

Wonder if the “loro negro” could actually be Hormigo Negro. Chuck
Loro negro is often one of several Cordia species.

Saw this project on the Youtube channel for Ultrawoody. Made up a quick prototype out of scraps.

2 quick speaker boxes done. They will be covered with interior headliner material.

Door handles and spacers mounted.
Were spacers on the original? What are they made of?

The original didn't have spacers, just a rubber gasket. The new handles wouldn't fit in the door as they are not correct for the model. I made them out of beech.

This months challenge on the other site is to turn something that hangs on a wall. I decided to go off the deep end as usual!
Winter's night in 3D.
Turned the moon from mappa burl. Turned the bushes in one piece then split in half with the bandsaw. The tree is a random branch I found outside.

Tons of creativity there! Out of curiosity, what is the other site you referred to? Chuck
It depends on where you live. Out here in my portion of Colorado I can load you up on blue-stained, beetle killed pine by the truck load, and plain Aspen which can have some interesting figure. But no, not all of us have incredible maple, cherry, oak, ash (I know ash is dying), and the possibility of burls, in the backyard. But yes, we are very fortunate in areas to have incredible options for wood.

And if you get your wrist slapped, you simply blame @Mike1950 , that you saw him do it and thought it was ok. The
won't remember what he did (or didn't do) and may even throw a little tantrum. But that'll be enough to distract interest away from you and you're in the clear. Works every time for me.
